My research focuses on the broader question of how children’s thinking processes are influenced by the social environment, and how they think about the people around them. More specifically, I am interested in how much they understand from the phenomenon that humans live their lives in groups and that their behavior is largely defined by the characteristics of the group they belong to. Moreover, I also study the ways children become competent members of a social group and how they manage to acquire the huge body of knowledge necessary to get around in a society.
